ADVENTURES FOR OLDER ADULTS

Adventures for Older Adults

Silver Saplings Adventures offers older people who feel socially isolated a chance to re-engage with their communities and build new friendships whilst connecting with nature.

Participants are collected in the Wild Things minibus and supported by our experienced instructors and younger volunteers to take part in activities which they may no longer able to enjoy due to lack of confidence, equipment, transport or age related health issues.

Examples of our activities include rock pooling, pond dipping, osprey and dolphin spotting, as well as nature-based crafts and gentle, wild walks on beaches, rivers and amongst bluebell filled woodlands. On arrival, we set up a base camp with sturdy camping chairs, a tipi and campfire as well as a pop up café. Tea and scones are served whilst participants share stories, reminisce and explore the location with younger volunteers, instructors and mobility aids where necessary.
