Wild Things enjoyed a busy and action-packed summer of Holiday Clubs, giving children across Moray the opportunity to get outdoors, explore the natural world and learn new skills while having fun.
From the woodlands around Forres to the Moray coast, the programme encouraged young people to discover the wildlife and habitats on their doorstep through practical, hands-on activities. Sessions included rock pooling at Hopeman Beach, where children discovered shore crabs, hermit crabs, starfish, anemones and even small moon jellyfish, alongside pond dipping, wildlife exploration, nature crafts and woodland adventures.

The clubs combined outdoor learning with plenty of fun and discovery, with activities including the Beak in a Bucket bird adaptation challenge, flying paper aeroplanes and dissecting owl pellets to discover more about what owls eat.

Across the summer, children were encouraged to investigate, ask questions, work together and build confidence outdoors. Most importantly, the Holiday Clubs gave young people the freedom to spend meaningful time in nature, make new friends and create memories while developing a greater understanding and appreciation of the environment around them.
