Wild Things’ Woodland Classroom supports outdoor learning in your setting. Within these sessions we invite children to explore your local woodland as budding naturalists—observing, recording, and engaging with the living landscape through hands-on, sensory-rich activities. Rooted in ecological literacy and child-led discovery, it fosters curiosity, teamwork, and respect for nature.

Woodland Classroom sessions can be purchased as a block or individual sessions, and are designed for ages 7-11 (P4-7). We currently have six themes on offer, each theme exploring a concept in nature, and linked to the Curriculum for Excellence’s Experiences and Outcomes.

Session Information

Sessions last 2.5 hours with children learning through play, observation, and inquiry—building ecological understanding in a safe, inclusive woodland setting.

Who’s it for

Designed for children in Primary 4 to Primary 7, these sessions support cross-curricular learning and personal development. They’re also ideal for home education groups, offering a rich, nature-based learning experience in a supportive outdoor setting.
