Become An Outdoor Educator

We are inviting educators to join our accredited Woodland Activity Leader Training (WALT) and Coastal Activity Leader Training (CALT) programmes.

The course is open to teachers, youth workers and outdoor enthusiasts to become qualified leaders in outdoor education. The programme equips participants with practical skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver engaging, safe and curriculum-linked nature-based sessions.

Professionally recognised by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) and endorsed by Education Scotland, WALT and CALT comes at a pivotal moment as the Scottish Government’s new Outdoor Learning and Education Bill expands access to outdoor learning across schools and communities.

Wild Things! CEO Luke Strachan highlights that the programme is flexible, combining online self-led theory (£200) with practical in-person training (£360 for three days or £720 for a full seven-day course in Moray).
