Come on a Wild Wander with Wild Things!

 

We would like to invite you to join us on our guided nature wellbeing walks throughout Moray and the Highlands.  You will experience the great outdoors with a knowledgeable and friendly guide.

 

Walking is great for our physical health and benefits our mental health.  Walking with a group can help us to feel more connected, improve our mood and help to lower anxiety and stress.  If you feel this would benefit you please come along.  There is no charge and no need to book.

 

All walks will be from 10 – 12.30 to allow a gentle and relaxing walk and time for wee break and a hot drink.

A pretty loch with a variety of trees and Wildlife there is a clear path, small flight of steps.

 

TUE 22 FEB 2022               NESS ISLANDS – Fisherman’s Carpark IV3 5SH, Bught Rd, Inverness

Distance 3.1km

Head into Ness island via the Victorian footbridges and explore a wealth of nature just a short distance from inverness city centre, follow canal towpaths and riverside paths.

Good paths and tracks throughout a circuit round the water, with stunning views of the mountains.

 

TUE 15 MAR 2022            Crannoch Circular Walk, Cullen The Square, Cullen, AB56 4RR

Distance 5.5km

Enjoy some coastal views as we take the path up towards Crannoch Hill Wood.

Follow a mixture of pavements, quiet country roads, and farm tracks, with earth paths through the woodland.

 

TUE 22 MAR 2022            Craig Phadrig –   Car Park Inverness IV3 8RX

Craig Phadrig is just a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Inverness. Take the A862 heading for Beauly, cross the canal bridge at Muirtown and turn left at the second set of lights onto King Brude Road, following signs for Kinmylies and Leachkin.

At the next traffic lights turn right towards Leachkin. After ⅓ mile turn right onto Leachkin Brae. The main car park is ¼ mile (400 metres) up this road on the right; there’s a smaller car park just before this.  IV3 8PN is the nearest postcode.

A woodland walk that takes a slight incline up hill. The short climb reveals tremendous views over the Beauly Firth.

The charges to park at Glenmore Visitor Centre are:

£1 for up to 1 hour, £1.50 for up to 3 hours, £2 for all day & £8 for minibus or coach all day

From the roundabout at the south end of Aviemore follow the signs for ‘The Cairngorms’ for 6 miles. Glenmore Visitor Centre is easy to spot on the left-hand side of the road, just beyond Loch Morlich

PH22 1QU is the nearest postcode.

Follow fairly level forest track road, with a few slopes through the Caledonian pines which leads to the green lochan.

A mix of farmland, woods, and forest tracks above the man-made Loch Park.

 

TUE 19 APR 2022             Beachen Wood Trails, parking is available at the main car park in the village centre, about 1km (0.6 miles) from the wood.

Gravel and grass tracks with some short but steep inclines.

 

TUE 26 APR 2022              Balmacaan Wood, near Drumnadrochit, Highlands Start at the old railway bridge by Grantown Caravan Park.

Distance 4.8km

A mixture of paths and tracks through ancient woodland up to the viewpoint where you can view the entire Cairngorm range.
