Seaweed and Eat it! This event is for anyone who would like to spend a day with one of our Wild things! instructors learning about the fascinating world of our sea vegetables!
On this enjoyable activity session you will learn how to identify some of our common seaweeds, as well as how they have been and are currently used by humans in creating a variety of products and food. During this event we will also have a campfire and cook up some of the seaweed we have collected for dinner, giving you a chance to sample some of the delights of the shore.
This event varies with tide times but usually runs from 2pm until 8pm.
Wild things! provide all necessary equipment, tools, and learning resources.
Instruction and supervision is provided by our qualified and experienced Wild things! activity leaders. Maximum group size is 10 participants. Emergency Transport (4-wheel drive vehicle) is always available for outdoor activities. This event is for adults aged 16 years and over.
The course will run from 10:00am – 4:00pm and will be based on one of the stunning beaches near Findhorn.
All you are required to bring is:
- A packed lunch
- Notebook and pen/pencil
- Sturdy pair of walking boots
- Warm and waterproof clothing
- Your enthusiasm for a wonderful day in the outdoors.
We can provide waterproof clothing and warm layers if required.
Seaweed and Eat It! is a one-day exploration of the bounty to be found on our coasts.
Cost: £35 per person.
The fee includes transport from Findhorn, guidance by our instructors, and all necessary equipment and materials. This fee does not include accommodation or any meals.
