We took our leader training courses on tour across the UK this summer. From Findhorn to Kinghorn, to Devon and the Forest of Dean, we covered the length and breadth of the country and met some amazing people along the way.
The summer started at home in Findhorn where we delivered our first Coastal Activity Leader Training course of the year to a group of eager students from a diverse range of professional backgrounds. It was wonderful to host another cohort of outdoor educators here in Findhorn, some of whom who had travelled from the opposite end of the country. What a privilege it is to be able to share our beautiful corner of the world with people who have never spent time here before. The Moray Firth is an enchanting environment for delivering and participating in outdoor activities.
From Findhorn we travelled to visit our friends at The Ecology Centre in Kinghorn, who hosted us for our Woodlands Activity Leader Training. It was great to return to Fife for a second successive year to deliver another of our leader training courses, with such wonderful on-site facilities and glorious areas of wilderness nearby.
In August we headed further South still towards Bristol and Plymouth. We spent a week in the serene surroundings of the Forest of Dean, delivering a Woodland Activity Leader Training course at Bristol City Council’s Dean Field Studies Centre. What a pleasure it was to take our course to new students, in such an immaculate area of wilderness, who may otherwise have not been able to attend a course in Findhorn.
For our final course of the summer we joined forces once again with the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth to deliver our Coastal Activity Leader Training in Plymouth. The coast around Plymouth provides an incredibly diverse environment and stunning location for hosting an outdoor learning course.
Thanks to everyone who joined us on our courses this summer. It was truly a pleasure to meet and spend time exploring the world of outdoor education with you all. Thank you also to all of our venue and accommodation hosts, who showed us such wonderful hospitality and helped make all of our summer 2017 courses so successful. Until next time….
