We had a fantastic session up in a super sunny Aviemore, providing teacher training for our future Primary School educators from the PGDE course atthe University of the Highlands and Islands. We were delighted to be invited by The UHI to deliver some taster activities for the PGDE primary teaching students, which they can then incorporate into their outdoor learning.
The teachers had the opportunity to spend their time get a taster on three separate topics to incorporate into their outdoor learning; Using Bushcraft Tools, Traditional Firelighting, and Erecting Tarps and natural Shelters. It was great to see all the students really get stuck into the fire lighting, shelter building and carving. Hopefully we have given the students all some ideas they can build upon when delivering outdoor learning with their own classes next year. Best of luck everyone with the rest of your teacher training!
