The event will run from 10:00am until 2:00pm. We will meet at the mountain bike car par in Sanquhar Woods, where you will be introduced to our instructors before we set off to start our walk.
During the walk our knowledgeable instructors will introduce you to the concept of animal tracking. They will guide you as we search for field evidence, such as; tracks, droppings, burrows, nests and feeding remains, as we travel through the woodlands. We will also look at a selection of skulls, bones, and print casts to classify different types of species.
There will also be time to sit around a camp fire, have a warm drink and something to eat, and discuss everything we have seen throughout the walk.
Animal Tacking is a skill which cannot be taught in a single day, but we will introduce you to some of the basic techniques and methods used by professional and experienced animal trackers throughout the UK.
